解放初期，這條河上航行的船只大多是采砂船，河流兩岸的居民在建造房屋時(shí)也會(huì)來(lái)到河中央進(jìn)行采砂，久而久之，這條河就得名“大沙河”?，F(xiàn)在這里不僅沿河種植了紫花風(fēng)鈴木、藍(lán)花楹等喬木花叢，還建立了水岸看臺(tái)、漫步綠道、賽艇中心等觀景游玩設(shè)施。
